Product Overview

The MAX406AESA+T from Maxim Integrated Products is a single supply, single operational amplifier (op-amp) in 8 pin NSOIC package. This low voltage, micropower, precision op-amp is designed for battery operated systems. The single supply device features a supply current of less than 1.2µA per amplifier that is relatively constant over entire supply range which represents 15 to 20 times improvement over industry standard micropower op-amp. A unique output stage enables this op-amp to operate at ultra-low supply current while maintaining linearity under loaded conditions. In addition, output is capable of sourcing 1.8mA when powered by 9V battery. The MAX406A is a single op-amp with two modes of operation such as compensated mode and decompensated mode. Floating BW (pin 8) or connecting it to V- internally compensates amplifier. This device is used in intrinsically safe systems, electrometer amplifiers, photodiode pre-amps and pH meters, battery powered and medical instruments.
  • Supply voltage range is 2.5V to 10V, 1.2µA maximum quiescent current per amplifier
  • Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
  • Maximum offset voltage is 500µV at TA= +25°C (V+=2.5V)
  • Typical input bias current is < 0.1pA at TA= +25°C (V+=2.5V)
  • Input voltage range includes negative rail, output swings rail to rail
  • Large signal voltage gain of 1000V/mV at Vout = ±2V
  • Typical unity-gain stable with a 5V/ms slew rate at TA= +25°C (V+=2.5V, compensated mode )
  • Typical CMRR value is 80dB and PSRR value is 50µV/V at TA=+25°C ( V+=2.5V)
  • Typical gain bandwidth is 8KHz (compensated mode) and 40KHz (decompensated mode) at TA= +25°C
