LTM4638IY

LTM®4638 is a complete 15A step-down switching mode µModule (power module) regulator. Included in the package is the switching controller, power FETs, inductor, and support components. It is set by a single external resistor. Its high-efficiency design delivers up to 15A continuous output current. Only bulk input and output capacitors are needed. It supports selectable discontinuous mode operation and output voltage tracking for supply rail sequencing. Its high switching frequency and current mode control enable a very fast transient response to line and load changes without sacrificing stability. Application includes telecom, datacom, networking and industrial equipment, medical diagnostic equipment, data storage rack units and card, test and debug systems.

• External frequency synchronization, multiphase parallel current sharing with multiple LTM4638s
• Output voltage tracking, selectable discontinuous mode
• Power good indicator, overvoltage, overcurrent and overtemperature protection
• Input DC voltage range from 3.1 to 20V (TA = 25°C, VIN = 12V)
• Output voltage range from 0.6 to 5.5V (TA = 25°C, VIN = 12V)
• Typical input supply current is 2.3A (VIN = 12V, VOUT = 1.5V, IOUT = 15A, TA = 25°C)
• Internal VCC voltage range from 3.2 to 3.4V (VIN = 12V, VOUT = 1.5V, IOUT = 15A, TA = 25°C)
• Typical oscillator frequency is 600KHz (VIN = 12V, VOUT = 1.5V, IOUT = 15A, TA = 25°C)
• 49 lead BGA package, internal operating temperature range from -40 to 125°C
