                      Product Overview

                      The MAX2642EXT+T is a 900MHz SiGe, high IP3, low noise amplifier (LNA) in 6 pin SC-70 package. This low cost, high third order intercept = point (IP3) LNA is designed for applications in cellular, ISM, SMR and PMR systems. It features a programmable bias, allowing IP3 and supply current to be optimized for specific applications. This LNA provides up to 0dBm input IP3 while maintaining a low noise figure of 1.3dB. The gain for this device is typically 17dB. The MAX2642 also features a 13dB attenuation step which extends LNA's dynamic range. It also features a shutdown mode that minimizes power consumption. On-chip output matching saves board space by reducing the number of external components. The MAX2642 is designed on a low noise, advanced silicon germanium (SiGe) process technology. Typical applications include 800MHz/900MHz cellular phones, 900MHz cordless phones, 868MHz/900MHz ISM band wireless data and PMR/SMR/LMR.

                      • Noise figure of 4.3dB (low gain mode), input return loss of -18dB (low gain mode)
                      • On-chip output matching, low power shutdown mode
                      • Operating supply current of 5.3mA (RBIAS=510 ohm, -40 to +85°C), shutdown supply current of 0.2mA
                      • Output return loss of -11dB (low gain mode), reverse isolation of -17dB (low gain mode)
                      • Gain control voltage input of 0.6V (high gain mode), 2V (low gain mode)
                      • Gain control input current of -10µA (high gain mode), 50µA (low gain mode)
                      • IP3 of 0dBm (RBIAS = 510 ohm), -5dBm (RBIAS = 806 ohm), -10dBm (RBIAS = 1.1Kohm)
                      • Operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C
