MAX3082ESA+

MAX3082ESA+ is a fail-safe, high-speed, transceiver for RS485/RS-422 communication that contains one driver and one receiver. This device features fail-safe circuitry, which guarantees a logic-high receiver output when the receiver inputs are open or shorted. This means that the receiver output will be a logic high if all transmitters on a terminated bus are disabled (high impedance). This transceiver typically draws 375µA of supply current when unloaded, or when fully loaded with the drivers disabled. Applications include RS-422/RS-485 communications, level translators, transceivers for EMI-sensitive applications, industrial-control local area networks.

• Differential driver output (no load) is 5V max at VCC=+5V ±5%, TA=TMIN to TMAX
• Receiver differential threshold voltage is -125mV typ at -7V ≤ VCM ≤ +12V, VCC=+5V and TA=+25°C
• Supply current is 430µA typ at DE=VCC, no load, active-low RE=DI=GND or VCC, SRL=VCC
• Driver rise or fall time is 1320ns typ at RDIFF=54ohm, CL1=CL2=100pF
• Receiver input resistance is 9kohm min at -7V ≤ VCM ≤ +12V
• 8 SO package
• Temperature range from -40°C to +85°C
