Product Overview

The ATSAML21J16B-AUT is a smart ARM based 32bit microcontroller 64 pin TQFP package. This SMART SAML21 series of ultra low power microcontroller using 32bit ARM Cortex -M0+ processor, operate at maximum of 48MHz and reach 2.46 CoreMark/MHz. It has flash memory up to 64KB and 8KB of SRAM. It is designed for simple, intuitive migration with identical peripheral modules, hex compatible code, identical linear address map and pin compatible migration paths between all devices. It includes intelligent and flexible peripherals, Atmel event system for inter peripheral signalling and support for capacitive touch button, slider and wheel user interfaces. It has an in-system programmable flash, 16-channel direct memory access (DMA) controller, 12-channel event system, programmable interrupt controller, up to 51 programmable I/O pins, power-on reset (POR) and brown-out detection (BOD), internal and external clock options, external interrupt controller (EIC), 32bit real time clock and calendar.
  • Operating voltage range from 1.62V to 3.63V
  • Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
  • 5 timer counter (TC), 2 waveform output channels per TC & 3 timer counter for control (TCC)
  • 16 external interrupt lines, 1 USB interface, 6 SERCOM & 4 configurable custom logic (CCL) (LUTs)
  • 20 ADC, 2 analogue comparators, 2 DAC, 3 op-amp and 1 AES engine
  • Real time counter (RTC), 1 RTC alarm and one 32bit /two 16bit RTC compare values
  • 169 (13 x 13) peripheral touch controller (PTC) channels (X- x Y-Lines) for mutual capacitance
  • Two-pin serial wire debug (SWD) programming, test and debugging interface
  • Low power modes (idle, standby, backup, off sleep), sleepwalking peripherals, battery backup support
  • Supported by Atmel studio, Atmel software framework and SAM L21 Xplained pro kit
