Product Overview
EVB8710 is a LAN8710A high-speed 10/100 ETHERNET transceiver customer evaluation board. The LAN8710A is a low-power, small form factor, highly integrated analogue interface IC for high performance embedded Ethernet applications. The EVB8710 is a PHY Evaluation Board (EVB) that interfaces a Media Independent Interface (MII) MAC controller to the LAN8710A Ethernet MII PHY via a standard 40-pin MII connector. The LAN8710A is connected to an RJ45 Ethernet jack with integrated magnetics for 10/100 connectivity.
- LAN8710A requires single +3.3V supply, provides an integrated +1.2V supply to run core digital logic
- PHY address configuration(user can configure default PHY address via PHYAD[2:0] configuration strap)
- Boot mode configuration via MODE[2:0] configuration straps at power-up
- nINT/TXER/TXD4 pin configuration (nINTSEL)
- EVB8710 can be clocked via the onboard crystal oscillator or an optional external clock
- 25MHz crystal Y1 is connected to the internal oscillator of the LAN8710A
- EVB8710 can be configured to use an external clock by removing crystal Y1 and resistor R20
